• Holyhead and Anglesey Weightlifting and Fitness Centre

"Wales has won a medal in weightlifting at every Commonwealth Games since the 1950s. Holyhead and Anglesey Weightlifting Fitness Centre without question, has been one of the biggest providers of medals. Financial support has allowed us to create a functional gym that caters to the sporting elite and the community equally. It supports our ambition to widen access to the sport and general functional fitness, and the potential benefit this has for the health and wellbeing of communities on Anglesey.” - Raymond Williams, Weightlifting Wales Head Coach

  • Menai Heritage Sailing

“Menai Bridge Heritage Sailing are the custodians of one of the oldest complete fleets in the world – the Menai Straits One Design Yacht. Our aim is to preserve their historical, cultural, and contemporary significance for future generations, and facilitate the acquisition of the skills required to maintain them. Funding has allowed us to purchase the remaining boats for restoration by our apprentice, Polly.” - Henry Chesterton, Chair of Menai Bridge Heritage Sailing.

  • Môn Search and Rescue

“Môn-SAR is the first and only lowland search and rescue team in Wales. We are totally dependent on local volunteers and donations from organisations such as the Isle Anglesey Charitable Association to operate. This enables us to continue to play a part in searching and rescuing several vulnerable people and returning them to their families.” - Huw Thomas, Chair of the Management Committee

  • Urdd Ynys Môn Film and Photography Club

“Funding support continues to allow us to provide unique opportunities through the medium of Welsh for children and young people on Ynys Môn. Cwrs tu ol i’r Lens, in partnership with Screen Wales, was a great training opportunity for members with a desire to learn more about work in the film and TV industry. The filming workshop gave our young people hands on experience using camera, editing and production equipment whilst meeting, quizzing and learning from industry professionals.” - Eryl Williams, Urdd Ynys Môn
