Use your skills for lasting community benefit

We’re recruiting for two new roles to support our work across Ynys Môn — a Grants Officer and an Honorary Treasurer (Non-trustee). These roles play a vital part in how we steward our £25m fund, support communities, and ensure our resources are used responsibly and for lasting impact.

  • Help turn community ideas into real impact.

We’re looking for a Grants Officer to help steward funding from application to award, working closely with communities across Ynys Môn. This role is central to how our £25m fund makes a difference on the ground, supporting strong decision-making, clear processes, and positive relationships with applicants and grant holders.

Ideal for someone who is organised, values-led, and motivated by seeing good ideas grow into meaningful community action.

    Deadline: 21.00 13 February, 2025

  • Bring financial expertise to the long-term stewardship of Ynys Môn’s charitable assets.

We are seeking an experienced Honorary Treasurer to provide professional financial advice and assurance to our Board of Trustees. This paid, advisory role focuses on financial oversight, risk, and sustainability, helping safeguard a £25m fund for the benefit of current and future generations on the island.

A strategic role for someone with senior financial expertise who wants to use it for lasting community benefit.

    Deadline: 21.00 20 February 2025

Can you help? Become a Trustee!

We continually welcome Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from individuals who are interested in joining our Board of Trustees and helping to lead our work and shape the future of the fund.

Our trustees play a vital role in deciding where our funding goes, how we support communities, and how we protect the fund for the future. This is a hands-on governance role - trustees also help assess and score grant applications, bringing their experience and insight into our funding decisions.

What we’re looking for:

We want people who care about Ynys Môn and are ready to get involved in shaping its future. You could bring:

- Skills in areas like finance, law, governance, or community development.
- Lived experience of the challenges and opportunities facing our island’s communities.
- A commitment to fairness, transparency, and independent decision-making.

You don’t need to have been a trustee before - training and support will be provided.

We welcome applications from all backgrounds and want our board to reflect the diversity of the island.

Commitment

- Around six meetings per year (a mix of in-person and online), each lasting 2–3 hours.
- Review papers and assess funding applications in advance (approx. 8–10 hours a month, depending on the numb of applications received)
- Occasional visits to funded projects or community meetings

Why join us?

- Influence how funding is invested in Ynys Môn
- Learn about governance, grantmaking, and community priorities
- Work alongside people with a shared passion for our island’s future
- Make decisions that have a direct, positive impact on local people

How to express your interest

Please send us your CV and/or a short covering letter telling us:

- Why you’d like to be a trustee
- What skills, experience, or perspectives you would bring
- Anything else you think we should know

Email: post@elusennol.org

Expressions of Interest are accepted on a rolling basis, and there is no specific closing date. We will be in touch when appropriate opportunities become available. For more information about the role, you can download the Job Description and Person Specification.
